Crops Mushrooms This Killing 18 People

At least 18 fungi lovers have met their death in an accident when their favorite mushroom hunting in the mountains and forests in northern Italy.

Mountain rescue officials say people who like looking for mushrooms to ignore safety procedures when they are wearing camouflage clothing and hunting in the dark to protect the coveted treasure it, so dilaporan newspaper La Repubblica.

"There is too much indifference. Too many people do not give proper attention to the rules and unfortunately, this is the result," said Gino Comelli, Alpine rescue service leader in the Valle di Fassa in the northwest part of Italy, told the daily.

As many as 17 people died in nine days, six people died within 48 hours.

"Most of them had an accident from steep slopes, moist slopes in the mountains of northern Italy," said La Repubblica in the news with the title of the massacre of mushroom hunters.

"Another man missing for more than a week," he said.

Ansa news agency reported, a man who has been hunting mushrooms found in the state were killed on Sunday in the Valtellina area, Alpine.

Storms in August and the hot weather has made fertile plants that attract hunters mushrooms to celebrate the harvest season mushrooms.
