This is the 10th Shell Youth Entrepreneurs


JAKARTA, - Shell Indonesia has ten Ambassador Shell LiveWIRE Business Start-up Awards (BSA) in 2010 as one form of corporate social responsibility (CSR).

"This form of entrepreneurship is the solution of the problem each year high school or college graduation is difficult to get jobs in the formal sector, whose numbers even over two million per year," said President Director and Country Chairman of PT Shell Indonesia, Darwin Silalahi, Monday (9 / 8 / 2010) in Jakarta.

According to Darwin, entrepreneurship could overcome unemployment for graduates who had just graduated, while at the same time creating new business field for others.

However, he added, entrepreneurial potential in Indonesia is still untapped. Based on data from the State Ministry of Cooperatives and SMEs, from tens of thousands of scholars who are recent graduates, only about 17 percent are interested to be entrepreneurial.

"Through this event, we hope the young kids that have the potential to be an entrepreneur can be inspired and encouraged to continue working to build their businesses, which in turn can contribute to developing the national economy," said Darwin.

Of the 384 applicants from all over Indonesia, which sent his proposal, Shell chose 15 finalists to those pursed into ten winners.

The ten winners have successfully met the assessment component of the jury, namely running a business idea, business model, strategy and business development, leadership and individual and business plan.

As for the ten winners of the 2010 Shell LiveWIRE BSA Achmad Ferdiansyah with business "Herbal Electric Lamp (HETRIC)", Ali Antra Good effort "Duck Pit Bull", Ari Wibowo with business "Restdoor", Mirza Akbar with business "Yogya Ice Cream", Novita Eka Sari with business "Comfort Shop", Nur Kartika Indah M with operations "Nata de Cassava" which also won a Green Entrepreneur, Ridho Arindiko S with the business "Edible Oil Sahara", Rizky Kurnia Widianto with business "Unique Current Jaya", Valdy Galih Saputra with the business of "The Unique Culture", and Yanuar Rahman with the business "Vidiyan.com".

The ten young entrepreneurs are entitled to a business development fund amounting to Rp 20 million as well as business training for two years.
